3 in. x 12 in. rough-sawn #2 & Better lumber, pressure treated with MicroPro Sienna, which gives the wood its warm brown colour. It is rated for above ground use, ground contact and freshwater contact, and comes in 12 ft. and 16 ft. lengths.
Rough, not an appearance grade. #2 & Better treated lumber has knots, wane and natural colour variation. If you need a cleaner face for a visible build, ask us about other grades.

How to Install
- Use ground contact rated wood anywhere it touches soil or stays wet. Above ground wood should not be used in ground contact.
- Wear a dust mask, goggles and gloves when cutting or sanding, and wash exposed skin afterward.
- Brush two coats of copper naphthenate end-cut preservative on all cuts and drilled holes for ground contact. Above ground, use a brush-on end-cut preservative.
- Use exterior-rated fasteners and hardware that suit the environment and meet code.
- Apply stain or water repellent once the wood is dry to the touch. Sprinkle water on it: if it soaks in, it is ready.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it rated for ground contact?
Yes. MicroPro Sienna is approved for above ground, in-ground contact and freshwater use.
Will the brown colour last?
No. The brown fades to a soft tan and eventually grey in sun. A semi-transparent stain or a water repellent with toner slows it.
Can I use it against aluminum?
Yes, above ground where the wood is not constantly wet. Do not use it with aluminum where water stands, such as hot tubs or pools.
Is this an appearance grade?
No. #2 & Better is a structural grade with knots and natural variation.
