Adseal 1940 is Adfast's one-part, moisture-cure hybrid polymer sealant, paintable and rated ±50% joint movement. This listing carries it colour-matched to the James Hardie ColorPlus palette, so a caulked joint reads as one colour with the siding instead of a bead of mismatched grey.
It tools and shapes for about 40 minutes before skinning over, bonds fiber cement, most wood, clean metals, glass and many painted surfaces, and cures dry-through in 24 hours for a 1/8 in. bead.

Clear is unmatched and intended for joints where colour is not a factor.
How to Install
- Wipe the joint with Adseal Cleaner 6003 and let it evaporate about 20 minutes before sealing.
- Fit Adseal Backer Rod into any joint with movement so the sealant bonds only the two side walls, not the joint bottom.
- Keep the bead within a 2:1 width-to-depth ratio, maximum 1/2 in. deep, minimum 1/4 in. x 1/4 in.
- Load a 304 ml cartridge into a manual, pneumatic or electric caulking gun and run a continuous bead.
- Shape the bead with the Adseal Tooling Kit or Shaping Tool within the 40-minute tack-free window.
- Wipe uncured sealant with mineral spirits; once cured it can only be removed mechanically. Allow 24 hours before the joint is exposed to normal service, longer before painting or full cure.
