James Hardie Architectural Panel Siding, Sea Grass Texture, Primed for Paint
Hardie Architectural Panel Siding is James Hardie's flat, large-format fiber cement panel, milled 5/16 in. thick and primed for field paint. This is the Sea Grass texture, sold in 4 ft. wide panels at 8 ft., 10 ft. or 12 ft. lengths.
Primed for Paint only. None of the three Architectural Panel textures are available in a factory ColorPlus finish. Contact us to request a ColorPlus quote if you'd like a factory-finished color option.
Panels install over framing at 16 in. or 24 in. o.c. Vertical joints are caulked, battened or built to a code-compliant seam, and horizontal joints take Z-flashing, per James Hardie's ESR-1844 fastening schedule.
Features and Common Uses
- James Hardie's flat, large-format fiber cement vertical panel siding, milled 5/16 in. thick in the Sea Grass texture

- Primed and ready for field paint in the color of your choice
- 4 ft. wide panels in 8, 10 or 12 ft. lengths, for fewer seams than lap siding on a given elevation
- Complies with ICC-ES ESR-1844 and current IBC/IRC code requirements
Commonly used for:
- Full elevations on modern and contemporary builds
- Accent walls, gables and feature panels paired with lap or shingle siding
- Commercial and multi-family exteriors where large-format panels speed install

- Caulk, batten, or design vertical joints to a code-compliant seam, and flash horizontal joints with Z-flashing.
- Prime all field cuts and fastener heads, and caulk vertical joints before finish coating.
