The Raindog Plug Plate is a weatherproof mounting plate for an outdoor electrical outlet, built into the wall's water-resistive barrier and siding assembly rather than surface-mounted on top of it. It ties into Raindog's rainscreen system, channeling water down and away from the receptacle and the siding behind it, and is sized for an industry-standard 2.25 in. x 3.5 in. outlet box.
Moulded from copolymer, UV-stabilized polypropylene with a double water seal at the box opening, it is part of the same Raindog mounting-plate line as their Light Plate and Hose Bib products, so an elevation with multiple exterior penetrations can be finished with matching hardware.

How to Install
- Mount the plate to the wall sheathing around the electrical outlet box before the siding course at that height goes on, so it sits inside the drainage plane rather than on top of the finished siding.
- Lap the water-resistive barrier over the plate's top flange and tuck it behind the bottom flange, the same shingle-lap order used at any other wall penetration, so water sheds down and over the plate rather than behind it.
- Fasten through the mounting holes into solid sheathing or framing, with corrosion-resistant fasteners suited to the siding install already in use on the wall.
- Have the electrician terminate the receptacle in the box behind the cutout once the plate and surrounding siding are in place, then seat the cover over the finished receptacle.
- Confirm the outlet box depth and rough opening against the plate's 2.25 in. x 3.5 in. cutout before ordering; the plate does not adapt to a nonstandard box.
