WedgeClip Hidden Deck Fastening Clips - Wood Joists
WedgeClip locks into the groove of a composite or PVC deck board and drives at an angle into a wood joist, so the finished deck shows no screw heads. Because the clip is not tied to a straight run, it fastens any deck pattern, including diagonal and herringbone layouts.
Each clip is a 316 stainless steel gusset and screw in a nylon spacer body, rated for chemically treated lumber, and every pack ships with the driver bits needed to install it.
Wood joists only. Framing on 14 to 18 gauge steel joists calls for CAMO WedgeMetal instead.
Specifications

- Sets a 3/16 in. (4.7 mm) board-to-board gap
- Fastener: 1-3/4 in. overall length, 0.200 in. shank, T-15 star drive
- Deck board groove needed: 1/8 in. tall x 1/4 in. deep minimum, 1/4 in. minimum material below the groove
- 50 sq. ft. box: 90 clips, 90 screws and driver bits, 8 boxes per case
- 500 sq. ft. pail: 900 clips, 900 screws and driver bits, 64 pails per lift
- At 12 in. on-centre framing, coverage drops to about 37 sq. ft. per 50 sq. ft. box
Dimensions and system
WedgeClip is part of CAMO's Universal Deck Clip system, so the same T-15 bit, CAMO Lever board-straightening tool and CAMO ClipDRIVE stand-up tool cross over to WedgeMetal and Edge clips as well.
Works with grooved boards from Trex, TimberTech by AZEK, Fiberon and Deckorators.
How to install
Hand-drive with the included T-15 bit and a drill, using the NEVER-MISS guide on the 500 sq. ft. pail to keep each clip square to the joist. For a full crew, the CAMO ClipDRIVE tool converts the same clip to a stand-up install, and two to four CAMO Lever tools hold a warped board straight while it is fastened. WedgeClip or Edge - which clip do I need?
WedgeClip fastens any deck pattern, including diagonal and herringbone layouts. Edge is priced for standard 90 degree deck patterns only.
Wood or metal joists?
WedgeClip is built for wood joists. For 14 to 18 gauge steel framing, use CAMO WedgeMetal instead.
What tool drives the clip?
A standard drill with the included T-15 bit for hand installation, or the CAMO ClipDRIVE tool for stand-up installation. Neither uses an impact driver.
Does the pack include screws?
Yes. Both the 50 sq. ft. box and 500 sq. ft. pail include one 316 stainless screw per clip, plus driver bits.
