HardiePanel 4'x8' Vertical Siding, Primed
HardiePanel Vertical Siding is James Hardie's fiber cement panel for a board-and-batten or reveal-panel look without the upkeep of real wood. Each panel installs full-sheet with battens or trim covering the vertical joints, so a large wall goes up in full panels instead of narrow boards.
This is the Primed panel, for field paint in any colour. Choose Select Cedarmill for a woodgrain texture or Smooth for a flat face; both are also sold factory-finished in 19 ColorPlus Technology colours as a separate listing. The Sierra8 texture is sold as its own listing too.

Performance and warranty
HardiePanel siding is fiber cement, noncombustible and compliant with ASTM E136. That rating covers the substrate; it does not extend to field-applied paint or factory finishes. James Hardie backs the panel with a 30-year non-prorated limited, transferable substrate warranty, and ColorPlus Technology finishes carry their own separate finish warranty.
Questions
Cedarmill or Smooth - which do I need?
Select Cedarmill has a woodgrain texture, Smooth is a flat, grain-free face. Both ship Primed here and are also sold factory-finished in ColorPlus Technology as a separate listing.
Do I need to paint a Primed panel right away?
James Hardie recommends painting Primed HardiePanel within 180 days of installation.
Does the fire rating cover my paint colour?
No. The ASTM E136 noncombustible rating applies to the fiber cement panel itself, not to field-applied paint or any coating.
Where is the Sierra8 texture?
Sierra8 is sold as its own listing at this size, since it only comes Primed with no ColorPlus option.
