Blueskin LVC Low-VOC Adhesive Primer, 17 L Pail
Blueskin LVC is a blue, quick-setting, rubber-based adhesive primer that improves the bond of Blueskin self-adhered membranes to masonry, concrete, wood, gypsum sheathing and metal. It is rated under 250 g/L VOC and sets in about 30 minutes.
One 17 L pail covers about 1,100 sq. ft. at the 250 sq. ft. per gallon membrane rate. Do not apply it directly to polystyrene foam board.
Features and Common Uses
- Quick setting with aggressive tack, ready for membrane in about 30 minutes
- Lower-VOC formula, under 250 g/L, that meets OTC adhesive rules and SCAQMD Rule 1168
- Works in normal and cold weather, down to -12 °C
- Blue colour shows where the primer is, so you can check coverage before the membrane goes on
- Applies by brush, roller or spray
Commonly used for:
- Priming masonry, concrete, wood, gypsum board, glass-mat sheathing and metal before Blueskin SA, SALT, TWF, VP and WP200 membranes
- Bonding Henry Neoprene Flashing to masonry, concrete and itself at lap joints
- Above-grade wall assemblies that need a fast-setting, low-VOC primer

How to Install
- The surface must be dry and free of dust, dirt, grease and oil.
- Brush, roll or spray at up to 250 sq. ft. per gallon. Use a solvent-resistant roller with a heavy natural nap, such as lamb's wool. Coat about 1 in. past the membrane edge so the coverage is easy to inspect.
- Wait about 30 minutes before placing the membrane, longer in cold weather.
- Press the membrane down soon after placing it and roll the laps firmly with a seam roller.
- Prime again any coated area that was not covered by the end of the working day.
- Brush 125 sq. ft. per gallon onto both the substrate and the back of the flashing, allow open time for full tack, then press into place and work out wrinkles.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does one 17 L pail cover?
About 1,100 sq. ft. (about 100 sq. m) of substrate for self-adhered membrane at 250 sq. ft. per gallon. About half that when priming both sides for Neoprene Flashing.
Which membranes is it for?
Blueskin SA, SALT, TWF, VP and WP200 self-adhered membranes, plus Henry Neoprene Flashing.
Can I put it on foam insulation board?
No. Henry says not to apply it directly to polystyrene such as EPS or XPS board.
How long before I can place the membrane?
About 30 minutes, and longer in cold weather. If you prime more than you cover in a day, recoat the open area the next morning.
Is it flammable?
Yes. It is flammable while wet and the dry film burns. Keep it away from heat, sparks and open flame, ventilate the work area and keep the pail closed between uses.
