Henry Blueskin VP100 Self-Adhered Water-Resistive Air Barrier Membrane, 48 in. x 100 ft.

Henry Blueskin VP100 is a self-adhered water-resistive and air barrier that peels onto sheathing without mechanical fasteners. The adhesive is vapour permeable, so the wall can dry to the outside, and the membrane self-seals around nails and fasteners.

This is the 48 in. x 100 ft. roll, covering 400 sq. ft. It is made for wood-framed residential and multi-family walls. Do not leave it exposed past 150 days.

Features and Common Uses
  • Self-adhered membrane with a split-back release film, installed with hand tools and a roller
  • Vapour permeable at 33 perms (ASTM E96 Method A)
  • Self-seals around nails and fasteners
  • 19 mil nominal thickness
  • Up to 150 days of UV exposure before cladding

Commonly used for:

  • Wood-framed residential walls
  • Multi-family buildings
  • Walls that need a combined air and water barrier

How to Install
  1. Make sure the substrate is dry and free of oil, dust, frost and bulk water. Do not apply below 20 F, and use an approved Henry primer below 40 F.
  2. Start at the base of the wall and work upward in a weatherboard pattern, with at least 2 in. side overlaps and 3 in. end overlaps. Peel the release film in sections and press the membrane on.
  3. Roll the whole surface with a countertop or J-roller to set the adhesive and remove wrinkles and fishmouths.
  4. Seal terminations, penetrations and frame perimeters with Henry 212 or Moistop sealant, using a 1/4 in. bead tooled flat.
  5. Flash windows and doors to the window manufacturer's instructions, local code and AAMA guidelines. Cover the membrane with cladding within 150 days.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need primer?

Not on clean, dry surfaces above 40 F. Below 40 F, or where adhesion is poor, use an approved Henry primer such as Blueskin Spray Prep.

How long can it stay exposed?

Up to 150 days. It is not made for permanent UV exposure, so cover it with cladding as soon as practical.

How much wall does one roll cover?

400 sq. ft. per 48 in. x 100 ft. roll, before the 2 in. and 3 in. overlaps.

Is this the same as Blueskin SA?

No. Blueskin VP100 is a vapour-permeable wall membrane. Blueskin SA is an impermeable flashing and membrane, sold in narrow rolls.
