Irwin Vise-Grip 8 in. Cable Cutting Pliers
Curved shearing jaws that close around a cable and cut it through rather than crushing it flat. That is the difference from a diagonal cutter: stranded cable keeps its round section, so the end still enters a lug or a connector without being reworked.
Nickel chromium steel with machined jaws and an induction hardened cutting edge, which is the part that blunts first on a plier used on wire all day. ProTouch grips.
IRWIN backs these with a lifetime limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

Questions
Will it cut steel cable?
No. These are for copper and aluminium conductor. Steel wire rope and guy wire will chip the edge, and there are dedicated wire rope cutters for that.
How is it different from a diagonal cutter?
A diagonal cutter wedges the cable apart and flattens the end. These shear it, so the strands stay round and the end still fits a lug.
Is it insulated?
No. ProTouch grips are for comfort, not electrical protection. Keep these off live conductors and use a tool rated to IEC 60900 for that work.
