King Chain Clevis Slip Hook
Wide open throat that lets chain run freely through it, so the load pulls itself tight. It is the general-purpose chain hook and the one most tie-down and towing assemblies end in.
Match the hook to the chain size. An oversized hook lets the chain shift in the throat and load the tip, and none of these is rated for overhead lifting.

Slip hook or grab hook?
A slip hook lets the chain run through so the load self-tightens. A grab hook catches one link to shorten the chain. Most assemblies use both.
What size do I need?
The same size as the chain it goes on.
Should it have a latch?
A latch stops the hook jumping off when the chain goes slack. If the assembly can go slack in use, choose a latched hook.
Where should the load sit in the hook?
In the bowl, seated at the bottom. A load on the tip bends the hook and it will not come back.
Can I lift with it?
