King Chain No. 1 x 20 ft. Double Loop Tenso Chain
Tenso chain, also sold as double loop, lion or knotted chain, is formed rather than welded: each link is bent back on itself so the chain holds together without a weld. Twenty feet of it, zinc plated, made to NACM standards.
The reason to choose it over welded chain is that it will not bind or kink when it is twisted. On a gate, a porch swing or a tie-out that turns all day, welded chain works itself into a knot and this does not. It is not heat treated and it is not a lifting chain. Never exceed the safe working load, and never use it for overhead lifting.

Questions
Why is it called double loop?
Each link is formed with two loops rather than welded shut, which is where the other names come from as well: lion chain and knotted chain are the same thing.
Is weldless weaker than welded?
At the same trade size it carries less than welded machine chain, which is why the safe working load is stated rather than assumed. What it gives back is that it does not bind when twisted.
Can I use it on a swing?
KingChain list porch swings and playground and gym equipment among the uses, inside the 155 lb. safe working load. It is not for overhead lifting, which is a different thing.
Will it rust outdoors?
Zinc plating handles ordinary weather. It is a plating, not a hot-dip galvanizing, so a chain that lives outside permanently will eventually show rust at wear points where the plating has rubbed through.
Can I shorten it?
Open a link with pliers and close it again, or join the ends with a quick link, which is cleaner and keeps the chain reusable at full length.
