Onward No Sag Bracket Gate Kit
A gate kit that solves the problem every timber gate eventually has. Gates sag because the frame racks out of square: the corner opposite the hinge drops, the latch stops meeting the keeper, and the gate starts dragging on the ground.
The kit uses corner brackets to hold the frame square rather than relying on the joints, so you build the gate from straight lumber and let the brackets do the geometry.

How to install
- Cut the frame square and check the diagonals match before fixing anything. The brackets hold square; they do not create it.
- Fit the corner brackets to the frame, then clad the gate.
- Hang the gate before fitting the latch, so the latch goes where the gate actually sits.
- Leave clearance at the bottom for the ground to heave in winter and for the gate to swing over grass.
Questions
Does it include the wood?
No. You supply the timber and the cladding; the kit is the hardware.
Will it stop an existing gate sagging?
It will if you can bring the frame back square first. A gate that has already racked has to be pulled true before the brackets can hold it there.
Why do gates sag?
The frame racks out of square at the joints, and the corner furthest from the hinge drops. Corner brackets stop the frame moving in the first place.
What size gate does it suit?
Match the kit to your gate width and check the opening before building. A gate wider than about a metre needs a diagonal brace as well as brackets.
