Holdowns and tension ties provide secure connections and meet a range of load requirements in vertical and horizontal wood applications. These steel connectors incorporate a variety of features and unique designs that aid correct installation and improve overall performance. Holdowns resist (or “hold down”) uplift loads imposed on walls and other framing elements in vertical applications while tension ties are engineered to resist lateral loads in horizontal applications.
