Which size do I need?
The 6 in. for electrical wire, cable ties and light work. The 8 in. for heavier wire and nails, because cutting force comes from handle length.
Will they cut hardened wire?
Soft copper, aluminium and mild steel wire, yes. Piano wire, spring steel and hardened nails will notch the edge, and a notched cutter never cuts cleanly again.
Is it insulated?
No. ProTouch grips are for comfort, not electrical protection. Keep these off live conductors and use a tool rated to IEC 60900 for that work.
