What does #18 mean?
The standard twine size for mason's line, and the size that line blocks and twine reels are built for.
Which length should I buy?
A longer spool costs less per foot and mason's line is consumable, so most trades buy long. Buy short only if it will sit unused.
Can I reuse a line?
Yes, until it picks up a permanent kink or the colour dulls enough that you cannot sight it. Both are cheap to replace and expensive to work around.
Is it strong enough to pull something?
No. Mason's line is a layout tool. Use rope for load.
