TimberTech Harvest PVC Decking 5/4x6

TimberTech by AZEK

Harvest Advanced PVC Decking Collection gives you the look of freshly painted or stained wood. Unlike wood, it never needs sanding, staining or sealing. A wash now and then is all it asks for.

It comes in two profiles. Grooved boards take CONCEALoc hidden clips, so no screw heads show. They come in 12, 16 and 20 ft. Square shouldered boards have square edges and screw through the face, with colour matched Cortex plugs to cover the holes. They come in 20 ft. Use grooved across the main deck and square shouldered for the outside boards, picture framing and stair treads.

Care

An occasional scrub and rinse is all that is needed. Use TimberTech DeckCleaner or mild soap and water. No sanding, staining or sealing at any point in the life of the deck.

How to install

Grooved boards are designed around a hidden fastener. CONCEALoc clips sit in the side grooves and set the gap for you, so the finished surface has no visible screws.

Square shouldered boards are fastened through the face. Cortex supplies a colour matched plug for the screw hole, which is why it is the usual pick for stair treads and for the boards at the edge of the deck where a clip has nothing to bite into.

Joist spacing, gapping and stair requirements change with the application, so work from TimberTech's current installation guide for the collection. That guide is the governing document if you ever need to claim on the warranty.

Questions

Is square shouldered available in 12 or 16 ft?
No. In Harvest it is stocked in 20 ft only. Grooved covers 12, 16 and 20 ft.

What is the difference between grooved and square shouldered?
Grooved has a slot down each edge for hidden clips. Square shouldered has square edges and is screwed through the face.

Does it need staining or sealing?
No. The cap is the finish. Wash it occasionally with soap and water or TimberTech DeckCleaner.

Is PVC better than composite here?
For water and heat, yes. There is no wood fibre in the core, so nothing absorbs moisture, and the board sits cooler in sun than a composite in the same shade.

Can I use it for framing?
No. These are surface boards and need a code compliant frame under them.

What trim matches?
AZEK Harvest fascia and riser in the same two colours. They are listed together as a separate product.
