TimberTech Vintage PVC Decking 5/4x6

Vintage decking carries a wire-brushed texture with layered highlights and lowlights under a low-gloss finish, built to read like ipe or aged mahogany hardwood rather than a flat painted board. That finish is baked into the cap, so there is no sanding, staining or sealing at any point in the life of the deck.

It comes in two profiles. Grooved boards take a CONCEALoc hidden fastener, so no screw heads show on the field of the deck. They come in 12, 16 and 20 ft. Square shouldered boards have square edges and screw through the face, with colour matched Cortex plugs to cover the holes. They come in 20 ft. Use grooved across the main deck and square shouldered for the outside boards, picture framing and stair treads.

Why choose Vintage
  • Wire-brushed texture with layered highlights and lowlights, close to ipe or aged mahogany hardwood
  • 100 percent PVC core with no wood fibre to absorb moisture
  • Cool Touch technology keeps the surface up to 30 degrees cooler than competing decking in direct sun
  • Up to 40 percent better traction than competing products, wet or dry
  • WUI compliant, Class A flame spread rating and an ignition resistant designation, a strong option for fire prone zones
  • Grooved for hidden fasteners, square shouldered for face screwing
  • Multiwidth boards and heat forming allow custom layouts and curves
  • Made with recycled material, including post-construction scrap
Performance and warranty
  • Capping: full cap resists UV, oils and household spills
  • Fade and stain: colour is set in the cap, not a surface coating
  • Moisture: wood free PVC core will not rot, swell or support mould, with water absorption under 1.2 percent by mass
  • Will not splinter, crack, cup or peel
  • Traction: up to 40 percent better grip than competing products, wet or dry
  • Warranty: limited lifetime product plus 50 year fade and stain
  • Fire: WUI compliant, Class A flame spread rating, ignition resistant
  • Sustainability: made with recycled content, about 60 percent by weight

Care

An occasional scrub and rinse is enough for the whole life of the deck. Use TimberTech DeckCleaner or mild soap and water. Never sand, stain or seal it.

How to install

Grooved boards rely on a hidden fastener. CONCEALoc clips seat in the side grooves and set the gap automatically, leaving a finished surface with no visible screws.

Square shouldered boards are screwed through the face, and Cortex supplies a colour matched plug for each hole. That makes it the usual pick for stair treads and for the boards at the outer edge of the deck, where a hidden clip has nothing to grip.

Joist spacing, gapping and stair details change with the application, so follow TimberTech's current installation guide for Advanced PVC decking. That guide governs if you ever need to make a warranty claim.

Questions

Is square shouldered available in 12 or 16 ft?
No. In Vintage it is stocked in 20 ft only. Grooved covers 12, 16 and 20 ft.

What is the difference between grooved and square shouldered?
Grooved has a slot down each edge for a hidden clip. Square shouldered has square edges and is screwed through the face.

Does it need staining or sealing?
No. The colour is in the cap. Wash it occasionally with soap and water or TimberTech DeckCleaner.

Does it really look like hardwood?
TimberTech built Vintage around a wire-brushed, low-gloss finish meant to read like ipe or aged mahogany, with highlights and lowlights layered into the board rather than a single flat tone.

Can I use it for framing?
No. These are surface boards and still need a code compliant frame underneath.

What trim matches?
AZEK Vintage fascia and riser in the same five colours. They are listed together as a separate product.
