How is jute different from sisal?
Jute is finer, softer and browner. Sisal is coarser, paler and stronger. Jute is the one people pick when it will be seen.

Yes, it is a natural plant fibre.

Can I use it in the garden?
Yes. It is a common plant tie and it breaks down rather than strangling growth later, provided you tie loosely.

Will it hold outdoors through winter?
It will weaken. Jute is not a long-life outdoor cord. Use synthetic twine where it has to last.
