Fiberon GoodLife - Composite Fascia & Riser

GoodLife Fascia and Riser are the trim boards that finish a GoodLife deck's edge and stair risers: fascia covers the rim joist and stringer, riser covers the vertical face of a stair tread. Both are solid composite boards, not scalloped like the deck boards, in 12 ft. lengths only, and come in the same six colours as GoodLife decking.

Priced by collection, not by individual colour. The Weekender colours (Cabin, Cottage) share one price and the Escapes colours (Beach House, Bungalow, Tuscan Villa, Cabana) share a second, higher price - the same split GoodLife decking uses.

See Fiberon GoodLife Composite Decking for the deck board this trim is built to pair with.

Dimensions and System

GoodLife Fascia and Riser are sold separately from GoodLife decking, in the same six colours, priced by collection: Weekender colours (Cabin, Cottage) at one price, Escapes colours (Beach House, Bungalow, Tuscan Villa, Cabana) at a second, higher price. Both trim profiles run 12 ft. only, so a longer rim joist needs a butt joint or a seam plate.

How to Install
  1. Cut fascia and riser boards with a fine-tooth carbide blade, supporting the offcut to prevent tear-out on the capped face.
  2. Attach fascia to the rim joist with colour-matched composite trim screws, or use a hidden fascia fastening system for a screw-free face.
  3. Attach risers to the stringer the same way, keeping fastener spacing consistent with the fastener manufacturer's schedule.
  4. Leave a small gap at butt joints and where fascia meets a post or corner trim for thermal movement.
  5. Pre-drill within 2 in. of a board end before fastening to prevent splitting, the same as any composite trim board.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does fascia come in the same colour as my deck boards?

Yes. Fascia and riser are offered in all six GoodLife colours - Cabin, Cottage, Beach House, Bungalow, Tuscan Villa and Cabana - matching the deck board colour choice.

Why is one colour more than another?

Price follows the collection, not the individual colour. Weekender (Cabin, Cottage) is priced lower than Escapes (Beach House, Bungalow, Tuscan Villa, Cabana), the same split GoodLife decking uses.

Can I use GoodLife fascia with Sanctuary or Symmetry decking?

It isn't sold as a matched set with those lines. Sanctuary and Symmetry each have their own fascia and riser at their own price point - use those product pages instead so the cap type and colour line up.

What screws do I need for fascia?

Colour-matched composite trim screws, hand-driven or with a stop-collar drill, or a hidden fascia fastening system if you want a screw-free face.

Do fascia and riser use the same fasteners as GoodLife decking?

No. Decking's hidden clips only work in a grooved board's edge channel. Fascia and riser are solid boards and are face-fastened instead.
