KingCord 11 in. Super Ground Stake

11 in. long, for anchoring guy lines, tarps, tents and temporary barriers. That is longer than the stakes that come packed with most tents, and length is what holds in soft or wet ground.

Drive it at an angle leaning away from the load, not straight down. A vertical stake pulls out; an angled one digs in.

  • 11 in., longer than the stakes packed with most tents
  • The usual failure with a short stake is not the stake bending, it is the whole thing lifting out when the ground softens
  • A longer stake reaches past the loose top layer
  • Guy lines, tarps, tents and temporary barriers
  • Model 312281BG
Questions

How deep should it go?
As deep as it will go, leaving just enough proud to hook the line over. A stake half driven is a trip hazard and a poor anchor.

Which way should it lean?
Away from the direction of pull, at roughly sixty degrees to the ground. Leaning it towards the load is how stakes pull out.

Will it hold in sand?
Poorly. Sand and very soft ground need a longer stake, a buried anchor or a deadman.

How do I get it back out?
Hook another stake or a bar through the head and lever it. Pulling on the guy line bends the stake.
