V jaw or straight jaw?
V jaw for pipe, tube and round nuts, because the work seats into the V. Straight jaw for flat and square work. IRWIN sells both patterns in these sizes.
Which size do I need?
The 10 in. handles most household plumbing. Go to 12 in. for larger pipe and for anything stuck, since the extra handle length is the extra torque.
Are these GrooveLock pliers?
No. GrooveLock is the push-button ratcheting range and is a separate product. These are the traditional groove joint pliers, adjusted by hand.
