Arrow 1/8" x 1/4" Medium Aluminum Pop Rivets (20-Pack)
Arrow's medium aluminum pop rivet is 1/8 in. in diameter with a grip range up to 1/4 in. (6 mm) of combined material thickness - the aluminum body resists corrosion far better than a steel rivet of the same size, at some cost in shear strength.
This is the general-purpose choice for outdoor sheet metal, gutters and storm doors, where a rusting steel rivet head would eventually stain or fail before the joint does. For a higher-strength joint indoors, Arrow's steel RMS1/8 in the same size carries more load.

Will these rust outdoors?
No - aluminum doesn't rust the way steel does, which is why it's the default choice for gutters, storm doors and other outdoor sheet metal.
How much thickness can this rivet join?
Up to about 1/4 in. (6 mm) combined thickness. Beyond that, move up to a long-grip rivet in the same 1/8 in. diameter.
Is aluminum as strong as steel?
Not in shear or tensile load - if the joint is structural rather than cosmetic, Arrow's steel RMS1/8 in the same size holds more.
What size hole do I drill first?
A 1/8 in. bit matched to the rivet body. Too loose a hole weakens the joint; too tight and the rivet won't seat.
