Deckorators Voyage - Composite Decking

Deckorators Voyage is a mineral-based composite deck board built with Surestone Technology, using wood fiber, plastic and mineral filler for a denser, harder-wearing profile than a typical wood-plastic composite. This is the 5.5 in. width (5/4 x 6 nominal), grooved for a StealthLock hidden fastener in the field or solid (square edge) for stairs and the perimeter, in 12, 16 and 20 ft. lengths.

Features and Common Uses
  • Mineral-based composite board built with Deckorators' Surestone Technology, from wood fiber, plastic and mineral filler
  • Actual size 5.5 in. x 0.835 in., grooved edge or solid (square edge) profile
  • About 1.6 lb. per linear foot
  • Slip-resistant surface tested to ASTM F1679, coefficient of friction 0.73 dry and 0.66 wet
  • Capped against fade and stain in six field colours

Commonly used for:

  • Main deck field, using grooved boards and StealthLock hidden fastener clips
  • Stairs, stair nosing and the deck perimeter, using solid (square edge) boards

Performance and Warranty

Voyage carries Deckorators' richest residential coverage: a 50-Year Limited Structural Warranty plus a 25-Year Limited Stain and Fade Warranty, and unlike the Summit line, Voyage's warranty also covers removal and replacement of a defective board. Coverage applies to ground or water contact installations.

How to Install
  1. Frame at 16 in. o.c. maximum for a standard perpendicular pattern, 12 in. o.c. for a 45-degree diagonal or commercial application, and 9 in. o.c. at stair stringers.
  2. Run grooved boards across the field and set a StealthLock Universal Deck Clip in the groove at every joist, which locks the board-to-board gap as it drives.
  3. Use solid (square edge) boards with a compatible composite deck screw on stairs and the outer perimeter, where a hidden clip has nothing to grip.
  4. Leave 1/8 in. side-to-side above 32 F or 3/16 in. below 32 F, and 1/16 to 1/8 in. at end joints, per the installation guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Grooved or solid - which do I need?

Grooved boards run the main deck field and take a StealthLock hidden fastener clip at every joist. Solid (square edge) boards face-screw and are used for stairs and the deck perimeter, where a hidden clip has nothing to grip.

Does it need staining or sealing?

No. Colour is part of the mineral-composite core, not a surface coating. An occasional rinse with soap and water is all it needs.

How much does a board weigh?

About 1.6 lb. per linear foot: roughly 19.2 lb. at 12 ft., 25.6 lb. at 16 ft. and 32 lb. at 20 ft.
