The A24 is Simpson Strong-Tie's general-purpose angle for 90° wood-framing connections that don't call for a load-rated hanger.
It's 12-gauge galvanized steel, sized 3-7/8 in. x 2 in. with a 2-1/2 in. wide leg. The base takes a 1/2 in. machine bolt; the post connection takes either a 1/2 in. machine bolt or two 10d nails, so it suits bolted ledger connections and nailed stud connections alike.
Simpson does not publish a load rating for the A24. Use it for general framing, not as a substitute for an engineered connector where a rated capacity is required.
