King Chain 1/4 in. x 10 ft. Grade 30 Proof Coil Chain
A cut 10 ft. length of 1/4 in. Grade 30 proof coil, ready to use without buying off a reel. 1/4 in. is the size most people want for a tie-down or a guard chain: strong enough to be useful, light enough to handle.
Proof coil is a general-purpose chain and must not be used for overhead lifting.
- 1,300 lb. working load limit
- 5,200 lb. minimum breaking force, a 4 to 1 design factor set by NACM and ASTM A413
- Cut length, so there is no reel to buy off
- Link geometry is 1.24 in. inside length and 0.38 in. inside width, which is what a hook or connecting link has to match
- Model 699481

Questions
How much can it hold?
1,300 lb. working load limit in straight direct tension. Anything shock-loaded goes past that figure quickly.
Can I lift with it?
No. Grade 30 is not permitted for overhead lifting.
Why is the breaking force so much higher than the working load?
A 4 to 1 design factor. The gap covers wear, dynamic loading and imperfect rigging. It is a safety margin, not headroom.
Does it come with hooks?
No. This is a plain cut length. Order hooks, links and shackles separately, and remember the assembly is rated at whichever component is weakest.
