King Chain 7/8 in. Fixed Eye Security Snap

A security snap uses a spring gate that closes under tension, so it will not shake off a ring on its own but still opens with one thumb. This is the 7/8 in. fixed eye version.

Safe work load is 104 kg (229 lb). Never exceed this rating, and do not use for overhead lifting.

  • 7/8 in. fixed eye
  • Spring gate closes under tension and opens with one thumb
  • Fixed eye means the snap does not rotate, so use it where nothing behind it will twist
  • Choose a swivel eye where a chain or lead can wind up
  • 104 kg (229 lb) safe work load (SWL)
  • Model 147450
Questions

Fixed eye or swivel?
Fixed where nothing twists behind the snap. Swivel where a chain or lead can wind up.

Is it load rated?
Yes, 104 kg (229 lb) safe work load (SWL). Never exceed this rating, and do not use for overhead lifting.

How do I keep it working?
Keep grit out of the spring and oil it once a season. A seized gate is a snap that no longer does its job.
