KingCord 190 ft. Fine Natural Jute Twine
Fine jute on a 190 ft. put-up. Jute is a natural plant fibre, softer and finer than sisal, and this is the light end of the range, the gauge for parcels, plant ties and craft work rather than for bundling anything heavy.
The safe working load is 4 lb. It holds a knot securely and it is 100% biodegradable, but its sunlight and moisture resistance is minimal, so it is an indoor and growing-season cord rather than a year-round one.
- 4 lb. safe working load
- Twisted construction in natural brown
- Holds a knot securely
- 100% natural plant fibre and biodegradable
- Minimal sunlight and moisture resistance, so keep it dry
- Model 300191BGV1
Questions
How much will it hold?
KingCord publishes a 4 lb. safe working load. It is a tying and bundling twine, not a load-bearing one.
How is fine jute different from the heavy duty?
Thickness, on the same fibre and the same 190 ft. length. Fine suits parcels, plant ties and craft work; heavy duty suits bundles that need a bit more in the hand.
Is it biodegradable?
Yes. It is 100% natural plant fibre and it breaks down.
Will it last outdoors?
Not for long. KingCord rates its sunlight and moisture resistance as minimal, so it weakens outside. Use a synthetic twine where it has to survive a season.
Does it hold a knot?
Yes, securely. That is one of the reasons jute is still used for tying rather than a slicker synthetic.
