Markal Paintstik Solid Paint Marker

Markal's Paintstik B is a solid paint crayon in a twist-up paperboard holder, real paint rather than wax or grease, so the mark stays weather- and UV-resistant outdoors. It works on oily, wet, icy, hot or cold surfaces where a liquid marker skips or won't dry.

Features and Common Uses
  • Solid paint crayon, not wax or grease, in a twist-up paperboard holder
  • 11/16 in. diameter x 4-3/4 in. standard size
  • Weather- and UV-resistant marks, rated -50F to 150F
  • Marks oily, wet, icy, hot or cold surfaces where liquid markers fail

Commonly used for:

  • Layout and marking on steel, pipe and structural members
  • Marking wet or oily lumber and concrete on a job site
  • Cold-weather and outdoor marking where liquid paint pens freeze or skip

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this mark oily or wet metal?

Yes. It is Markal's most common use case: real paint in solid form marks oily, wet, icy, hot and cold surfaces that a liquid paint pen can't.

How is this different from a regular paint marker?

It's a solid crayon, not a liquid-filled pen, so there's no tip to dry out or clog and it keeps working in freezing temperatures down to -50F.
