Nelson Wood Shims 8" Composite Shim, 12 Pack
Nelson's 8 in. composite shim is made entirely from recycled material rather than wood, so it won't split, rot or absorb water the way a wood shim can. Scored lines every 1/8 in. let it snap cleanly to length by hand.
Sold 12 to a pack, sized for door and window jamb shimming where a wood shim would be the traditional choice.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from a wood shim?
It's made entirely from recycled composite material rather than wood, so it resists splitting, rot and water absorption that a wood shim doesn't.
Can I nail or screw through it?
Yes. The composite resists splitting even when nailed or screwed, unlike a wood shim of the same thickness.
