Onward Eye-to-Eye Stainless Steel Turnbuckle
Left-hand thread at one end, right-hand thread at the other, so turning the body draws both eyes in at once without twisting the cable. That is how a turnbuckle tensions a cable or rod after it is installed.
Never run the threads out to the last turn. Keep several threads engaged at each end or the fitting is holding on almost nothing.
- Two sizes: 3/16 in. x 5-1/2 in. and 1/4 in. x 7-5/8 in., where the first figure is the thread and the second the closed length
- Stainless steel, which is the finish for anything permanently outdoors or near salt

How to install
- Wind the turnbuckle nearly fully open before fitting, so you have the full range of adjustment available.
- Connect both eyes, then turn the body to tension. Do not turn the eyes, or you twist the cable.
- Never run the threads out to the last turn. Keep several threads engaged at each end or the fitting is holding on almost nothing.
- Lock it once tensioned, with the lock nuts if fitted or with a wire seizing, so vibration cannot unwind it.

How does it work?
One end is a left-hand thread and the other a right-hand thread, so turning the body pulls both eyes in together.
What do the two numbers mean?
The first is the thread size, the second is the closed length.
Why stainless?
It does not seize. A plated turnbuckle left outdoors corrodes at the thread and cannot be adjusted when you next need to.
How far can I open it?
Keep several threads engaged at each end. Running it out to the last thread leaves the load on almost no engagement.
What load will it take?
No working load limit is published for this fitting. Never use it overhead, and size the whole assembly at its weakest component.
