A surface spring hinge closes a door on its own. The spring lives inside the hinge barrel rather than in a separate closer, so there is nothing mounted across the top of the door and nothing to catch a head on.

How to install
- Mount both hinges on the face of the door and frame. This is a surface hinge, so no mortising.
- Keep both hinges in line with each other. A hinge out of alignment binds and the spring fights it.
