Frequently Asked Questions
Which width should I choose?
The 2-1/4 in. bolster gives a narrower, more controlled cut line. The 4 in. bolster splits a full brick face in fewer strikes.
Is the guard removable?
No, it's a fixed plastic guard on the shaft, positioned to protect your supporting hand from a mis-struck hammer blow.
Bolster or chisel for splitting brick?
The bolster's wider edge is the faster tool for a clean split across a full brick face; a narrower brick chisel suits detail cuts and trimming.
