Protecto Wrap Deck Joist Tape - 2" x 50'
Deck Joist Tape is Protecto Wrap's self-adhering flashing tape for the tops of deck ledger boards and joists. Its Super Stick Technology butyl adhesive grips damp or pressure-treated lumber without a primer coat, and it forms a moisture barrier where deck screws and joist hangers penetrate the wood.
Peel back the release liner and press the tape onto the joist, smoothing out wrinkles and air bubbles with a roller. Keep a minimum 2 in. side lap and 4 in. end lap where two runs meet.
This is the 2 in. wide roll, sized for the top of a standard joist. Wider ledger boards, beams or doubled joists need Protecto Wrap's 4 in., 6 in. or 9 in. rolls instead.

Surfaces must be clean and free of dust, grease or other loose material before applying. The adhesive tolerates damp lumber but not standing water or contamination.
How to Install
- Make sure the top of the joist or ledger board is clean and free of dust and debris.
- Center the tape on the joist so it covers evenly on both sides.
- Remove 3 to 6 inches of release liner at a time and press the tape down as you go.
- Roll the full length smooth to work out wrinkles, creases or air bubbles.
- Where two lengths meet, keep a minimum 2 in. side lap and 4 in. end lap.
Wider ledger boards, beams or doubled joists need one of Protecto Wrap's 4 in., 6 in. or 9 in. rolls instead of this 2 in. roll.
