H10A-2 Hurricane Tie, Double-Ply
The H10A-2 is an 18-gauge hurricane tie sized to hold a double-ply rafter, truss or joist down to the wall plate. It forms part of the continuous load path that resists wind uplift and seismic forces.
Hurricane ties do not replace solid blocking. Frame the blocking the code requires as well.

How to Install
- Seat the tie over the double-ply member and against the plate.
- Fill every hole with (18) 0.148 in. x 1-1/2 in. nails or SD screws.
- On plated trusses, don't nail through the truss plate from behind; it can push the plate off.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it replace blocking?
No. Simpson states hurricane ties do not replace solid blocking.
Can I use it on a pressure-treated deck?
Not this finish. G90 galvanizing is for dry, interior framing. For preservative-treated lumber or exterior exposure, Simpson calls for ZMAX, hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel connectors and matching fasteners. Ask us about the ZMAX or stainless version.
