HUS210-2TF Heavy Top-Flange Hanger with Double-Shear Nailing, double 2x10

The HUS210-2TF hangs a double 2x10 joist from the top of the header. An embossed 1-1/2 in. top flange bears on the header while double-shear nailing through the joist and face nailing into the header carry the load.

Not for nailers or welded steel applications; for a steel beam or a wood nailer on steel, ask us about a hanger rated for that.

How to Install
  1. Hook the top flange over the header so it bears fully on the top edge.
  2. Fill the top-flange and face holes in the header with 16d common nails.
  3. Seat the doubled joist and drive the joist nails at an angle through the joist into the header.
  4. With 3x carrying members, use 0.162 in. x 2-1/2 in. nails in the header and 0.162 in. x 3-1/2 in. in the joist.

Which nails do I need?

Header: 16d common (0.162 in. x 3-1/2 in.). Joist: 16d common (0.162 in. x 3-1/2 in.). Use the exact sizes Simpson specifies; a shorter or thinner nail lowers the allowable load. Simpson's catalogue table lists the load for each nailing option.

Will it work on a steel beam?

No. Simpson does not allow this model for nailer or welded applications. Ask us about a hanger rated for steel.

Can I use it on a pressure-treated deck?

Not this finish. G90 galvanizing is for dry, interior framing. For preservative-treated lumber or exterior exposure, Simpson calls for ZMAX, hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel connectors and matching fasteners. Ask us about the ZMAX or stainless version.
