The Simpson Strong-Tie Outdoor Accents Avant APVKB45-4 attaches a 45° knee brace to a post or beam when the lumber is nominal 4x. It is 12-gauge steel with a ZMAX galvanized finish under a black powder coat, and the Avant Collection styling has straighter edges for a contemporary look.
Fasteners are sold separately. Use the Outdoor Accents SDWS22312DBB structural wood screw with an STN22 hex-head washer for the look of a bolted connection, or the SDWB22306DBB button-head connector screw for a one-piece, low-profile head.

- Hold the 4x knee brace at 45° against the post and beam and mark the connector location.
- Place the APVKB45-4 against the faces of the brace and the post or beam.
- Install SDWS22312DBB structural wood screws through STN22 hex-head washers, or SDWB22306DBB button-head connector screws, in the holes provided.
